AMTRAK

Kids Ride Free on Amtrak® Pacific Surfliner®

You won’t have to worry about traffic or parking hassles if you take the Pacific Surfliner train to Ventura. The station is a few steps from the festival entrance. Many Pacific Surfliner stations offer free parking, and the train ride is comfortable with onboard amenities such as a Market Café, free Wi-Fi, power outlets, and more.

Amtrak Surfliner Schedules

METROLINK

On May 18 and 19, Metrolink trains will bypass the Ventura-East Station and will originate/end at the Ventura Downtown/Beach Station, which is located next to the Ventura Fairgrounds. Specific service details are outlined below for awareness.

Service to Ventura on May 18 and 19
Train 162 will run as train 196, leaving Ventura-Downtown/Beach at 12:53 p.m. and arriving at LA Union Station at 2:46 p.m. Train 164 will run as train 198, leaving Ventura-Downtown/Beach at 4:14 p.m. and arriving at LA Union Station at 6:04 p.m.

Service to Los Angeles on May 18 and 19
Train 163 will run as train 195, leaving LA Union Station at 10:31 a.m. and arriving at Ventura-Downtown/Beach at 12:19 p.m. Train 165 will run as train 197, leaving LA Union Station at 5:07 p.m. and arriving at Ventura-Downtown/Beach at 6:58 p.m.

On weekends, Metrolink offers a $10-day pass for unlimited rides. Up to three kids under 17 ride free with each adult fare, making it affordable for families. Metrolink also has a codeshare program with Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, expanding options for passengers along the Ventura County Line.

Avoid traffic delays and parking fees by utilizing our free park ‘n’ ride Strawberry Express Shuttle Service from convenient locations throughout Ventura and Oxnard.

Shuttles run on surface streets and have direct access to get you to the Festival fast and help you save on parking. Pick-up and drop-offs run approximately every 15-20 minutes. The first shuttle picks up at 9:00 a.m. The last shuttle leaves the festival at 7:00 p.m. Handicapped accessible shuttles are available.

The California Strawberry Festival is at the Ventura County Fairgrounds at 10 W Harbor Blvd in Ventura. Ventura is approximately 68 miles north of downtown Los Angeles and 27 miles south of Santa Barbara.

Limited parking is available on-site for $20. To avoid congestion, use Seaward Exit and do not use the California Street or Main Street exits. Garden Street entrance will be closed to the public except for Uber, Lyft and buses.

FROM THE NORTHBOUND 101 FREE WAY

  • Take the Seward Ave. exit
  • Turn left over the bridge onto Seaward Ave.
  • Turn right on Harbor Blvd. and continue until you reach The Ventura County Fairgrounds
  • The fairgrounds are at the corner of Harbor Blvd. and Figueroa St.

FROM THE SOUTHBOUND 101 FREEWAY

  • Take the Seaward Ave. exit
  • Turn right onto Seward Ave.
  • Turn right on Harbor Blvd. and continue until you reach The Ventura County Fairgrounds
  • The fairgrounds are at the corner of Harbor Blvd. and Figueroa St.

 

Note! We highly recommend Southbound traffic use our new shuttle from De Anza DATA Middle School (Exit Hwy 33 N to Stanley).

ON-SITE PAID PARKING

On-site venue parking ($15-20 depending on lot) is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Lots and prices listed on map below. Stay tuned to castrawberryfestival.org for traffic and parking alerts. Notices will be posted when lots are full.

FREE PARKING

There is also free parking located throughout downtown Ventura. Reference the map above to view the available lots, walking, and shuttle routes.

UBER, LYFT, AND TAXI

Drop off and pick up for all rideshare transportation (Uber, Lyft, taxi etc.) is located at the rideshare pick-up spot at the intersection of S. Garden Street & W Thompson Blvd. Rideshare patrons will walk down S. Garden Street and enter at the Garden Street Gate of the Ventura County Fairgrounds. Use the destinations below for ease of navigation. This gate will only be open to rideshare and shuttle passengers.

Bike traffic is encouraged to take Santa Clara or Harbor Blvd toward Figueroa Street, and enter using the main festival entrance where there will be a FREE first come, first served bike valet presented by T-Mobile and run by Bike Ventura. WALKING

Ventura is very foot-friendly, with an enjoyable downtown area full of shops and restaurants. Whether you’re walking from your hotel or parking and enjoying the scenery along the way, foot traffic is encouraged to take Santa Clara St to Figueroa Street or The Ventura Beach Bike Path to the Festival Entrance.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION / BUS

There closest public bus stop is located near the intersection of Figueroa and Thompson Blvd, just a block away from the Ventura County Fairgrounds.

VCTC Intercity

VCTC’s Coastal Express and Highway 126 routes stop in Downtown Ventura.  For more information, visit goventura.org. Transit operators allow bike storage onboard!

Gold Coast Transit

Routes 6 and 16 provide service to Downtown Ventura. For more information, visit Gold Coast Transit’s website.

Bus Fares

Trips on all local buses can be paid for through the VCbuspass app or with exact change. Riders who use VCbuspass to pay for their fare will receive a 10% discount per trip. Students enrolled at Ventura County colleges, UC Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara City College ride free through the College Ride Program and youths 18 and under ride free through the Youth Ride Free Program.
