BIG BAD VOODOO DADDY AND THE E FAMILY FEATURING SHEILA E
HEADLINE ENTERTAINMENT FOR CALIFORNIA STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Fielding the berry best in entertainment…Powerhouse performers, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the E Family featuring Sheila E will be “jamming” live on stage to celebrate the 25th Anniversary CALIFORNIA STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL May 17 and 18, 2008 at Strawberry Meadows of College Park in Oxnard (3250 S. Rose Avenue).

The nation’s coolest swing band renowned for their impeccable upbeat performances, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will transport fans back in time to the 40s big band era with classic suit and fedora styling and an electrifying stage show Saturday afternoon, while the E Family featuring Sheila E bring it home Sunday afternoon with an upbeat Escovedo family collaboration of amazing talents in a spellbinding brand of Pop, R&B and Latin Jazz. Keeping the rhythm solid on drums and vocals, Sheila E has performed with Prince, Ringo Starr, Jennifer Lopez, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, George Duke and countless others.

Presented by Gold Coast Toyota and included with Festival admission, two Festival stages will be alive with concert performances throughout the weekend. Offering a menu of musical tastes, concerts range from Classic Rock and Country, to Zydeco, Elvis, and Latin Salsa, Rhythm & Blues, and Smooth Jazz, with Tributes to Santana, Journey and Queen, among others. It all kicks off with the downbeat of the Oxnard High School Marching Band as they welcome patrons when the gates open each morning.

Not to overlook the younger set, children have their own entertainment oasis in Strawberryland For Kids at the “Jest in Time” tented theatre where puppet shows, comedy, juggling, magic and more take center stage. Daily appearances with television’s favorite character Strawberry Shortcake also personalize the experience.

Open 10:00a.m. to 6:30p.m., the CALIFORNIA STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL features delicious strawberry delights, Fine Arts & Crafts, Rides & Attractions, gooey contests, and more. Admission ranges from $12 to $5 and proceeds benefit 20 Southland charities. Youths four and under are free. The free “Strawberry Express” Park & Ride shuttle provides quick & easy access off the 101 Freeway. On site parking is free. For information call 1-888-288-9242 or visit www.strawberry-fest.org where you can also buy tickets in advance.
